Paper Mache Crocodiles

Third graders learned all about crocodiles! Did you know crocodiles can have up to 30 sets of teeth in their lifetime? Once a tooth falls out, another grows right back in! They also have very good hearing, and can roar like a lion! These are just a few of the interesting facts they learned. Third graders first drew an aerial view of a crocodile from cardboard and then cut it out and traced it a second time and cut it out. They taped these two pieces together and stuffed it with newspaper. Next, they did two layers of paper mache with newspaper and then with construction paper. Lastly, they painted on some details with tempera paint. They did a great job and turned out awesome!
